
Outdoor Pool
Lessons, Classes & Camp
The SYS Pool is located outside, on the south end of the Southampton Town Recreation Center. The pool is used during the summer months for Camps, Fitness Classes and Swim Lessons.
SYS offers swim lessons during the summer months. Group, semi- private and private lessons are available. Classes are held Monday-Thursday for 2 weeks.

Please note: Due to high demand and limited spacing, all registrations for swim programs are FINAL and no refunds will be given after registration.

Pre-School: Ages 3 & 4
Students will learn personal water safety and achieve basic swimming competency. No skill prerequisites. Children will become familiar with an aquatics environment. Children will develop an increased comfort with underwater exploration and will be introduced to basic self-rescue skills performed with assistance. Emphasis is placed on helping children to develop positive attitudes and safe practices in and around the water
* Must be 3 by the start of the first class.
* Must be potty trained.

Level 1: Ages 5 & 6
Students will focus on developing primary strokes, kicks and arm movements. Children will learn personal water safety and develop an increased comfort with underwater exploration and will be introduced to basic self-rescue skills performed with assistance. Emphasis is placed on helping children to develop positive attitudes and safe practices in and around the water

Level 2: Ages 7 & 8
Students will focus on becoming proficient with primary strokes, kicks and arm movements. Children will practice personal water safety and continue underwater exploration. Students will gain confidence and get comfortable floating on their backs. Emphasis is placed on helping children to develop positive attitudes and safe practices in and around the water.
*Must have basic ability to swim.
